Central Coast Pediatrics Inc takes pride in offering a range of providers and appointment times to accommodate your schedule. Please call our office to schedule any appointments and our front desk staff will accommodate your desired time to the best of their ability. If you are running late or need to reschedule, please contact our office as soon as possible.
Insurance and Billing
To ensure insurance coverage for your new baby, it is important to add your newborn to your insurance plan within 30 days of birth and choose one of our physicians as your baby's primary care physician (PCP). You must show your current insurance card at every visit. This is to protect you from receiving a bill because we did not have correct insurance information. We will attempt to validate your insurance benefits at the time of service and alert you to any problems. If we cannot validate your coverage, we may assign your account to self-paid status and request full payment at the end of your visit.
Know your insurance benefits. Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, even if your employer provides it. There are many subtle differences in insurance policies, and employers frequently change coverage and co-payments. You are responsible for knowing what services are covered (and how often, in the case of well visits), and how much of the cost is your responsibility. You will be responsible for any portion of the services that your insurance doesn’t cover, or for which you have a deductible that has not yet been met. You should also be aware of where your insurance wants you to go for any lab or radiology procedures, so that in an urgent situation, you are seen at the appropriate facility and will not receive a bill.
We must have a copy of your insurance card to process a referral. As your pediatrician, we may need to make referrals to specialists when needed and coordinate other services for the total care of your child. Your plan may require that your pediatrician serve as a "gatekeeper" to authorize or approve certain services. Without these approvals, you may have to pay for part or all of these services yourself. In order to process these referrals we need to ensure that we have the most up-to-date insurance information on file at every visit.
We accept checks, cash or credit cards. We also offer a flexible payment plan. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own pediatrician.
